Network Security

Network security is a multi-layered solution. Implementing a firewall is a good first step to becoming secure but more is required to be adequately protected. Security needs to be considered in all aspects of your network. Endpoint security is essential as well. This means making sure that proper security is in place on all computer connected to the network. Anti-virus software, desktop firewall's and properly updated operating systems are all part of endpoint security.

The necessary services we offer include:

  • Windows NT/2000/2003 Server service pack and security patch updated to address the vulnerabilities inherent in the software.
  • Establish user security protocol regarding passwords, Internet use and user installation of applications.
  • Installation and maintenance of antivirus software on file servers, email servers and workstations. Dacom specializes in and is an Authorized Reseller of Sophos' computer security products.
  • Detection and removal of malicious code such as Trojans and back doors on workstations and servers.
  • Installation and configuration of an effective firewall to maximize security while permitting normal traffic to pass through.

All of the above are requirements for adequate security for security is not determined by the strength of its defenses but by its weakest vulnerabilities.
